Details:

The President’s Graduate Fellowship (PGF) is awarded to candidates who show exceptional promise or accomplishment in research. A number of PhD research students are selected each semester by the University for the award.

The Fellowships are open to all nationalities who will be admitted as a full-time candidate for a PhD programme at NUS.

The PGF is initially awarded for one year. It may be renewed each semester on the basis of the scholar’s performance in the previous semesters and the recommendation of the Faculty. The maximum award is four years.

Degree Level:

SUTD PhD President’s Graduate Fellowship 2022 is available to undertake PhD level programs at Singapore University of Technology and Design.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Awardees will receive a scholarship that covers the applicable tuition fees  and monthly stipend as follows:
  • Full Tuition fees at NUS
  • A one-off air travel allowance for one-way ticket of up to S$750 (only for overseas students)
  • A one-off settling-in allowance of S$1,000 (only for overseas students)

PGF recipients must be in Singapore during the duration of the scholarship award, except during period(s) of approved leave. Recipients may be required by the Head of Department/Programme concerned to assist in teaching or departmental work.

The University does not provide additional assistance towards travel or other costs, besides those indicated above, nor does it guarantee employment to the scholar on the successful completion of the programme.

Eligibility Criteria:

The President’s Graduate Fellowship will be provided to students who demonstrate excellent academic backgrounds.
International Students must perform teaching/laboratory supervision duties to fulfill the subsidized fees requirements.

Application

Application forms for admission to graduate research programmes, with or without scholarship, are available online as well as via paper. Prospective students are advised to apply online.

There are two intakes per academic year – one in Semester I (August) and the other in Semester II (January).

All the departments/programmes offer a Semester I (August) intake. Some departments/programmes also offer a Semester II (January) intake. 

Each application must be accompanied by an application fee which is not refundable:

  • Application fee for online or  paper-based application is at S$50.00 (inclusive of GST)

Outcome of applications will be made known by 31st May for the Semester I (August) intake, or by 31st October for the Semester II (January) intake.
