Research Associate/PhD Student (simulation algorithms for physical quantum systems and quantum Boltzmann models)

Research on the development and implementation of efficient simulation algorithms for physical quantum systems (e.g., “tensor networks”, “artificial neural networks”) and quantum Boltzmann models; teaching duties according to DAVOHS, supervision of seminars and theses, drafting of exam problems, conducting post-exam reviews, creating teaching documents, consulting.


  • University degree (Diploma or Master’s) in mathematics, physics or informatics.
  • Thorough knowledge in Numerics and Scientific Computing, and be acquainted with quantum mechanics.
  • The active participation in the research projects at the Junior Professorship in Applied Mathematics and interest in interdisciplinary projects is expected.
