My lab focuses on fatty acid transport, metabolism and storage in lipid droplets, with a particular emphasis on their relevance for obesity and associated metabolic diseases.
Here, we are looking for a highly motivated PhD student interested in the transport of fatty acids across endothelial cells. Our model system are primary endothelial cells as well as immortalized cell lines. Biochemical approaches will be combined with cell biology techniques. Previous experience in tissue cell culture and lipid metabolism would be great but is not essential.
This PhD position is funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation) and will be paid according to TV-L.
