Under the general guidance of WHO Representative and direct supervision of the WHO Field Security Officer (FSO) who provides overall technical direction regarding security policy and procedures and in collaboration with the Regional Field security officer, the incumbent will provide administrative support and guidance for accessing inaccessible areas of the Polio Program and make random visits to various regions to obtain information affecting program implementation, staff and non- staff security thus enabling access for better program delivery.
The incumbent plans steps and performs day-to-day routine tasks independently. Complex issues or deviations from established procedures are discussed and resolved with supervisor. Some judgment is involved to determine appropriate methods to handle the various security issues and to adapt established practices to assigned work.
- Completion of High School education and supplemented by training/courses in security management
- At least five years practical experience in security related issues preferably in an International Organization
- WHO/UN related experience
- Very good knowledge of English and local language
