Applications are invited from an individual, institution or organization for The International Ibsen Award and Ibsen Scholarships.
The International Ibsen Award honors an individual, institution or organization that has brought a new artistic dimension to the world of drama or theatre. The award is presented every other year at the National Theatre in Oslo.
The International Ibsen Scholarships are awarded biennially as part of the Skien International Ibsen Conference. The Scholarships can go to a person, organization or institution. Scholarships are awarded innovative projects in the field of drama and performing arts, and projects that act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen.
The applications are subject to scrutiny by an appointed jury. The Ibsen Scholarships were initiated by the Norwegian government and will be handed out for the 10th time in 2019.
Ibsen scholarship applicants will receive benefits from a total amount of NOK 2.000.000, (Approx. Euro 202.000, OR USD 229.000).
Applicants are required to submit the following with application:
- Project title
- A detailed description of the project
- A description on how the project contributes to a critical discourse
- A detailed budget and a finance plan. Budget estimate must be in Euro or USD
- A detailed project time line
- Curriculum Vitae of individual or project participants
