Bike 

Want to save time getting to lectures? Why not cycle? You can rent one of our docked bikes across our campuses or use one of the numerous cycle shelters to store your own bike securely. 

Bus 

We work with Stagecoach to help our students travel across Guildford and beyond. You can get a highly discounted bus pass that will help you travel between campuses as well as around Guildford. 

Car 

Parking at the University is limited however we are committed to helping provide cost-effective transport alternatives to cars whenever possible. 

Train 

Guildford Railway Station is located approximately 10 minutes from the University. As a student, you have a great selection of discounted rail travel options available to you including the 16–25 Railcard and the 26-30 Railcard.

Accommodation Support

Living in Halls of Residence

Our Accommodation team, based on the Stag Hill campus, is on hand to help you with your inquiries during your time in the halls of residence. All of our residences have receptions (except for Hazel Farm) which are your first stop for all accommodation advice and support.

Peer Support service

Peer Supporters have been trained by the Wellbeing and Welfare department to provide a non-judgemental listening and support service to all Surrey students. They are all students at Surrey who genuinely care about you and want to listen, support, and guide you in any way they can to help make your University experience the best it can be!

Security

There are security staff on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our team’s main purpose is to ensure your security and safety, with regular patrols carried out both day and night. If you need help at any time you can contact them in person on Stag Hill campus or by phone. Out of normal opening hours, Security also deals with urgent requests for maintenance and will help you with other inquiries you may have.

Money Support team

The Money Support team offers confidential, non-judgemental support and advice to all students experiencing financial-related housing issues.

We can offer advice and support on:

  • Financial assistance for people living with disabilities
  • Problems with paying your rent or mortgage
  • Advice on council tax letters
  • Advice and administration of the Rent Guarantor Scheme
  • The effect of Ending a tenancy and how it impacts your finances
